Our Commitment to You

MangaMe uses your input—primarily a persona image and text—to generate manga content using OpenAI's API. We are committed to keeping your personal information secure. We collect only the data necessary to create a fun, personalized manga experience, and we never sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

What Data We Collect

To generate personalized manga chapters and character experiences, we collect the following data:

Required Data

Persona images (stored) – Your main character image is required to create manga stories. This can be a selfie (face data), cartoon character, or any image you choose. We store this to maintain your character across multiple manga stories.

Optional Data

Plot photos (temporary) – Additional images you may upload to enhance your story. These are processed immediately and deleted within 24 hours after manga generation.
Generated manga content – We store the manga chapters we generate for you so you can revisit and share them.

Face Data Specifics

When you choose to use a selfie as your Persona, we handle this face data with extra care:

Retention period: Face data is stored for the duration of your active account, up to a maximum of 12 months from your last app activity
Why this timeframe: We store face data for this specific period to enable you to create consistent manga stories with your character while ensuring we don't retain personal biometric data indefinitely
Automatic deletion: Face data from inactive accounts (no login for 12 months) is automatically deleted
Immediate deletion: You can delete your Persona (including any face data) instantly by long-pressing it in the creation flow or deleting your account

How We Use Your Data

Your data enables us to create engaging and personalized manga stories. Specifically, we use it to:

Generate manga content based on your Persona and plot inputs
Save your manga chapters for future viewing
Maintain your Persona character for use across different stories

We do not use your photos or manga for training AI models or advertising. Face data, when provided, is used solely for artistic manga generation and never for identification or biometric profiling.

Data Security & Storage

Your Persona images and manga chapters are stored securely using industry-standard encryption methods, both in transit and at rest.

Storage Duration:

Persona images (including face data): Maximum 12 months from last activity, or until you delete it
Plot photos: Processed and deleted within 24 hours
Generated manga: Retained while you have an active account

Your Control:

Delete individual Personas anytime by long-pressing in the app
Request complete data deletion through app settings
All data is immediately deleted upon account deletion

We take every precaution to prevent unauthorized access or misuse of your personal data.

Third-Party Services

To deliver the MangaMe experience, we work with trusted technology providers, including:

OpenAI - For manga generation (processes images during generation only)
PostHog - For analytics
Sentry - For app exception logs & bug reporting
Firebase Crashlytics - To help with fixing app crashes
MetaSDK - For presenting Ads

These services do not have access to your personal data except as necessary for their specific function (e.g., OpenAI processes images only during manga generation).
